Shri Sai Purifies The Thoughts Of His Devotees

Shirdi Sai Devotee Amritha R from India says: Om Sai Ram! This is an experience that Baba gave me and my family which touched all our hearts. 

I was introduced to Baba during my final MBBS exam when I was going through a very tough time. I was fed up with lots to study. I felt anxious and hopeless. That was when Baba came into my life. One of our relatives who was an earnest devotee of Baba told us more about Him. I was gifted the Satcharitra. Baba, Himself drew me closer to Him by His little leelas (miracles). (I have mentioned one of them towards the end also).

I did my exams quite well with Sai Baba’s blessings. We all planned to go to Shirdi and take Baba’s darshan after the exams. Though we made a decision to go, we did not know-how. That was when an acquaintance of my uncle contacted him. He was surprised to know that his acquaintance was then working in Shirdi hospital. He helped us out along with a relative of ours. What a coincidence! As Baba used to say  “I draw to Me, My man (Devotee) from far off or even across the seven seas, like a sparrow with a string fastened to its feet” ( Shri Sai Satcharitra – English by Hemadpant Pg: 254).

Now I come to the main part of the incident. I along with my mother and grandmother went inside the Samadhi Mandir. Since it was our first visit, I had no idea about the place. I could only see the crowd in front of me. But when I saw Baba’s statue amidst the crowd, I was filled with happiness, in fact, taken to another world. My eyes were fixed on Baba’s divine form and calmness embraced my mind. I could take Baba’s darshan (sight) to my heart’s content. Even my mother had the same experience. Her heart was overflowing with love for Baba.

All of a sudden she noticed that one of the lady volunteers who stood near Baba’s Moorti (statue) and who was managing the crowd, sending away people as soon as they took darshan, kept staring at her. She did not know why because we had not even met her before. We were both greatly surprised and overjoyed with what happened afterward. Despite the huge crowd, the lady made my mother stand to the side and take darshan multiple times and asked her to bow down at the Samadhisthaan (The place where Baba’s holy body is laid to rest). Mother asked her permission to call me back as I was already on my way out after taking darshan. She allowed that too. With Baba’s blessings, I could take His darshan again.

But what happened in my grandmother’s case was slightly different. At that time she was not a strong devotee of Baba like me and my mother. She was introduced to Baba just a few days back. As it was difficult for her to walk due to arthritis, a wheelchair was brought for her. She was taken in through a different way without much crowd and where people on wheelchairs were taken. While sitting in the wheelchair she started thinking “What people say is not true. They say that only if Baba wills it, they will be able to take His darshan. But for me, everything was very fast and easy.” As soon as she got introduced to Baba, she could come to Shirdi and be going to get darshan easily and comfortably.

She had not seen Baba’s statue until then as there was another woman in a wheelchair and a tall, broad man pushing the wheelchair in front of her. As soon as the thought crossed her mind, a bouquet was given to her as prasad. But she thought that it was given to be kept at Baba’s feet. So, when the other wheelchair was moved, and her turn for darshan came, before looking at Baba’s Roop (form), she was about to keep the flowers down when someone turned the wheelchair in such a way that she could not see Baba’s Roop. It might have been an attempt to prevent her from keeping back the prasad. 

So in short, despite coming all the way from Kerala, despite all the comfortable arrangements, she was not even able to take a glance of Baba’s form due to the single thought that arose in her mind. She was very sad and thought that all of this happened because of her ego. In this way, Baba taught her a beautiful lesson that unless He wills it, no one can take His darshan on their own accord. (Shri Sai Satcharitra – English by Hemadpant Pg: 161). But Baba also knows that we cannot control our thoughts and she thought it accidentally. So, He did a Leela to comfort her as well. She was very disappointed after the incident but did not tell us anything about it fearing that we might blame her for her thoughts.

On our way back, something happened that brought her back to happiness and made her believe that Baba forgave her. An old man, with a cloth tied around his head, a bowl in one hand with a lot of Vibhuti (sacred ash) in it and a cloth bag in the other hand (Baba’s attire when He went for His begging rounds) came near our car when we stopped to buy fruits from a fruit stall. I gave him some money as Dakshina, but he did not leave. He went all the way to the other side of the car where my grandmother was sitting. He marked her forehead with Vibhuti and kept his hand on her head and blessed her. We were all surprised as the old man came to her and blessed her only despite the fact that she was sitting far away from him. Was he a messenger of Baba or was he Baba Himself who came to console her?

After the incident, my grandmother was relieved and her faith in Baba increased manifold. Baba taught us to always be humble and to always remember that God is above all of us and everything ultimately happens in accordance with His divine will. All of us took the lesson to our heart’s content. This was just one experience that Baba gave out of many such experiences. Let us all be grateful to Shri Sai for this Leela and the lesson that He taught us through it.

A small note towards the end:
This was my personal experience that drew me closer to Baba. It is very dear to me. From my childhood days, I loved Shri Krishna a lot. When I was introduced to Baba, there was a doubt in my mind about how to leave the God that I had worshipped for so long and resort to the worship of Shri Sai Baba Who was now equally dear to me. (I admit that it is due to my ignorance that such a thought arose in my mind, as we know that all Gods are ultimately the same.) But still, I wanted one deity Whom I can always rely on like a mother and meditate on. So Baba clarified this ignorance of mine as soon as it arose. 

I prayed sincerely asking Baba what to do about this and opened a page of the Satcharitra which had the meaning Baba and Krishna are the same. I was very happy and content. Baba is there to guide us in all the difficult situations and all that He wants from us in return is pure love, total trust, and complete surrender to Him. Bow to Shri Sai – Peace be to all 

Sai Baba’s Help In Job

Om Sai Ram. I have restarted my career after a break of 12 years all by the grace of Sai Baba. It’s been around four months and I’m settling slowly into my responsibilities. I have faced a few challenges while performing my work. 

1. I used different credentials than what had to be used and had to wait for someone to come and solve the issue. I prayed to Baba that the issue should get resolved quickly. 

2. I entered the settings of a customer different from their default values which caused some trouble to them. Baba again came to my rescue. 

I’m facing difficulties every day in managing my tasks. I hope and pray that Baba holds my hand and makes me perform my job successfully. There have been many other small instances where He has helped me in my job. 

Without You I’m nothing. Help me in fulfilling my responsibilities and others who are in the same situation. Thank You. 

Sai Baba Protected Devotees

Anonymous Shirdi Sai Devotee from South Africa says: Om Sai Ram. I’m from South Africa. I’ve been a Baba devotee for a while now. I’m also part of the Mahaparayan group and read the two allocated chapters of Sai Satcharitra every Thursday. 

Today we were driving and the weather was really bad. In South Africa, we battle with severe storms, especially during this time of the year. We were driving on a mountain road. It looked like it was going to storm. I prayed to Baba to please not let it storm until we got back home. The clouds were really, really dark. We got home safely without any rain. It rained only about 5kms from my house. It’s definitely Baba’s blessings and He was with us. Thank You, Baba. 

Sai Baba – The Divine God

Anonymous Shirdi Sai Devotee from Ireland says: I am staying in Ireland. I am a Sai devotee and for me Sai is everything. 

Here in Ireland, the weather is cold. Recently, I had a stomach problem and I visited the Doctor. He prescribed some medicines and cream. After visiting the clinic, I prayed to our dear Sai Baba to heal it. From the next day itself, I started seeing the improvement with Baba’s grace. Still, sometimes it comes but I have faith in Sai that He will resolve it completely. As for Sai, nothing is impossible. Hence one must surrender to Sai with full faith and patience and it is for sure that we are going to be saved.

Sorry, Sai for submitting the experience late. Please help me overcome this situation and help to completely eliminate the problem.
